Born in Erskine, Arthur started out at the National Performance Centre in Stirling as a 15-year-old as well as Celtic's academy, where her entire youth career took place.
Such was her promise, the midfielder made her Celtic debut at 17, and later her senior Scotland debut at just 20 years of age against Northern Ireland.
Arthur then enjoyed a year-long spell in Edinburgh with Hibernian, where she was part of the team that reached the 2015 Scottish Cup final and finished second in the league.
In January 2016, Arthur joined Bristol City in English football's second tier, scoring on her debut and going on to win promotion with the Robins.
Arthur enjoyed subsequent spells at Birmingham City and Aston Villa before signing for Palace in the summer of 2022, racking up more than 40 appearances in her first two seasons, and helping the Eagles reach the Women's Super League in the record-breaking team of 2023/24 – a contract extension duly beckoned in the summer.
