Loan Report: Stunning debuts & goal contributions

Crystal Palace’s loanees have been in fine form of late – find out how they’ve performed over the last fortnight below!

A busy end to the January transfer window saw Luke Plange, Jadan Raymond, Tayo Adaramola, Rob Holding, Jeffrey Schlupp and Jack Wells-Morrison all head out on loan – and a number of debuts have since followed.

For Holding, that arrived as an 82nd-minute substitute in Sheffield United’s 2-1 win over Portsmouth in the Championship – with Palace teammate Jesurun Rak-Sakyi having scored the winner nine minutes prior.

Rak-Sakyi was in the right place at the right time to guide home Rhian Brewster’s ball into the box – the 22-year-old’s fifth goal of the season – before Holding came on to help his team across the line and move up to second in the Championship.

Rak-Sakyi had also featured as a substitute in the Blades’ 1-0 win over Derby County the previous week – a match which saw David Ozoh make his first start for the Rams since September, after recovering from long-term injury.

Midfielder Ozoh also started away to Norwich City the following week, playing the first 76 minutes in a 1-1 draw which marked his 10th appearance of the season.

Also making an impact in front of goal, 21-year-old full-back Danny Imray has recorded three assists in his last two matches: a brace of them in a 3-3 midweek draw away to Salford, and another to set up the winner against MK Dons at the weekend.

Imray has now recorded nine goal contributions (two goals, seven assists) for Bromley in all competitions this season, with his side sitting 13th in League Two in their first-ever season in the English Football League.

Also in League Two, goalkeeper Owen Goodman has recorded back-to-back clean sheets for AFC Wimbledon over the last fortnight – making it four shut-outs for the shot-stopper in his last five matches.

Goodman’s latest pair came in a 0-0 draw at Accrington Stanley and, before that, a 1-0 win over Bradford City, with Goodman’s team having conceded just 20 goals in 28 league matches so far this season – the best defence in the league by some eight goals.

The England youth international has now kept 14 clean sheets in 28 league appearances so far this season – remarkably, a clean sheet every other match.

In the same division, Palace Academy graduate Asher Agbinone has continued to start consistently for Gillingham, whilst current Premier League 2 top scorer Umolu made his Port Vale debut last weekend as a late 2-1 win over Accrington, following it up with a longer appearance this weekend in a 3-3 draw at Swindon Town.

In Scotland over the last week, Palace winger Schlupp made his Celtic debut as a second-half substitute in a thumping 6-0 win over Dundee, before enjoying his first start for the Scottish champions in a 5-0 Cup cruise past Raith Rovers at Celtic Park.

The week prior, young forward Plange debuted for Motherwell off the bench after 63 minutes of a 3-1 loss against Celtic, with his team’s next game in two weeks’ time.

Whilst Raymond was not involved for Queens Park on Sunday afternoon – the Academy graduate remaining on the bench – his Scottish Championship team went on to secure a historic 1-0 win over Rangers at Ibrox.

And young midfielder Killian Phillips stretched his run of starts for St Mirren to 20 consecutive matches last week, with his side due to face Hearts in the Premiership on Monday evening.

In the National League, Academy midfielder Wells-Morrison made his Solihull Moors debut from the start in a 1-0 defeat to Oldham Athletic; whilst Chris Francis made his second start for Dagenham & Redbridge last week in a 2-1 loss at York City.

In Ligue 1, Naouirou Ahamada picked up more minutes for Rennes last week, playing the last half-an-hour of a 1-0 win over Strasbourg.
