Sherif Lamidi – affectionately known as Dots around the training ground – is a dynamic left-sided player who can operate as both a winger and wide defender.
He joined Palace in the summer, bringing with him energy, flair, and a creative spark on the ball.
Before arriving in South London, Dots began his Academy journey with Watford, signing at Under-15 level – his first experience in a professional academy setup. He remained with the Hornets through to the end of his Under-16 season, gaining valuable experience and development.
A crucial moment in his young career came during a pre-season tour to Georgia with Watford’s Under-17s, where despite finishing third, Lamidi relished the chance to test himself at a higher level and showcase his potential.
Signing his scholarship at Palace in the summer of 2025 was another proud milestone for Dots, marking a new chapter in his footballing journey.
On the pitch, Lamidi is known for his forward-thinking approach, regularly looking to influence games with creativity – whether through dribbling, incisive passing or making runs in behind.
He combines strong work off the ball with disciplined pressing and intelligent movement, while his versatility, technical confidence and attacking intent have made him a promising addition to the Academy ranks.
In his first year as a scholar, Lamidi made 16 appearances for Javier Alonso's U18s, registering one assist, and stepped up during periods where injuries and GCSE commitments opened opportunities across the squad.
He also earned a place on the bench for the Under-21s away at Nottingham Forest towards the end of the campaign.
