Palace's trip to Washington D.C. took in the very seat of American power, and led to some serious discussions about the future of football - and some not so serious...
"I need a clean shot!" said Mark Bright outside the White House, in an ambitious attempt to take the perfect selfie. "I've seen it loads of times on TV, now we're outside taking pictures - memories."
The academy boys were enjoying the summer sun in the capital, standing outside the Capitol building.
"It's good - it's better than London anyway," said Justin Devenny. "Get me into the sun, training hard. I love it!"
There was a serious message delivered too, as Maryland Senator Chris van Hollen - co-chair of the Senate Soccer Caucus - and Oliver Glasner discussed the future of football in the United States.
Van Hollen was presented with a Palace scarf, before chatting to the players and staff.
"It's good to get kids from all different backgrounds to come and enjoy football and hopefully come to Palace like us," said Caleb Kporha, reflecting on the visit.
"We know you have USMNT player Chris Richards in your squad," said Van Hollen. "We want to make sure there are more Chris Richards!"
