International Eagles lined-up on opposing sides on Tuesday night as England hosted Senegal in a friendly at the City Ground.
Palace’s Dean Henderson and Ebere Eze were back in action for Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions, while Ismaïla Sarr returned for Senegal, with the trio all in from the start.
England took the lead six minutes in with Eze involved, winning the ball back high up the pitch before playing in former Eagle Conor Gallagher, who teed up a chance for Anthony Gordon, with the rebound converted by Harry Kane.
Henderson, winning his third senior cap, impressed early on. Having already made a good save from Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson, the Palace stopper denied club teammate Sarr after reacting quickly to the forward’s header in the 14th minute.
