Palace ‘keeper Dean Henderson has been nominated for Premier League Save of the Month award for April.
The acclaimed save arrived 11 minutes into the Eagles’ eventual defeat to Manchester City at Selhurst Park, with Palace in the lead at that stage courtesy of Jean-Philippe Mateta’s early strike.
After an inviting cross from Kevin de Bruyne was half-cleared by a Palace shirt, the ball fell to City midfielder Rodri inside the box. The Spaniard half-volleyed the ball towards the bottom corner, with Henderson doing wonderfully to get down low and turn the effort around the post.
Henderson’s nomination comes alongside that of teammates Jean-Philippe Mateta for Premier League Player of the Month and Jeffrey Schlupp for Goal of the Month.
He faces competition for the award from Nottingham Forest’s Matz Seles; Liverpool’s Alisson Becker (to deny Mateta and Palace at Anfield); West Ham’s Lukasz Fabianski; Burnley’s Arijanet Muric; and Manchester United’s Andre Onana.
The winner will be announced at 14:00 BST on Friday, 10th May.
