His Slovakia side topped the group after winning their opening fixture and they went on to win against Greece in their second fixture. Lusale put in a standout performance, getting the only goal of the game in the 85th minute.
The structure of their group means only the winner is guaranteed to progress to the next stage of the tournament, second place is in with a chance of qualifying based on their performance. Both Slovakia and Ukraine were on six points heading into the final game of the group in a winner-takes-all clash.
Slovakia unfortunately fell to a 3-0 defeat to Ukraine in their final game, leaving them in second place, with a chance of qualifying as one of the best second-place sides.
Following his call-up to the side, Lusale said: “I’m very happy to have received my first international call-up for Slovakia. I'm very proud on behalf of my family.
“I’m looking forward to the tournament and facing Greece, Switzerland and Ukraine. My season so far has been going well, I've been playing up [with the Under-18s] a lot, and this is an opportunity to keep on going.”
