The second game of the group stage saw Trinidad and Tobago face Dominica, and Cardines was on top form. He notched the third goal in a 5-0 win and assisted two others as his side moved to second place in Group D, behind leaders Canada.
In their final game of the tournament, Trinidad and Tobago fell to a 3-0 defeat to favourites Canada. The result means they finish second in the group and will not progress to the final stage of the tournament.
Prior to his call-up, Cardines was in great form for Rob Quinn’s U18s this season, starting 17 out of a possible 19 games so far and registering a goal and two assists.
Cardines has even featured for the Under-21s this season, making his first appearance at that level against Athletic Club in September 2023.
