The tournament, hosted in Cyprus, kicked off on Monday, 20th May and both Lusale and Walker-Smith were primed for Slovakia and Wales respectively.
Both of these players featured in the Palace side which won the Under-15 Floodlit Cup National final against Stoke City at the end of 2022/23 and have since gone on to feature for the Under-16s and Under-18s sides this season.
Lusale has made 10 appearances for Rob Quinn’s U18s this season, most recently starting in the final game of the campaign against Reading.
He registered an assist for Slovakia U17s on his competitive debut back in March, before scoring the winning goal in the following game against Greece to send them through to the finals of the U17 Euros.
In his first game against Sweden, the two sides played out a 0-0 draw, where Lusale featured from the start for 70 minutes. A tricky test against Italy followed, though Lusale struggled to make an impact off the bench as Slovakia lost 2-0. Poland put four past Lusale's side in their final game of the group, signalling an end to his campaign.
Walker-Smith meanwhile has made nine appearances in total for the U18s this season, with five starts to his name. The young defender helped the side to a 3-0 win over Reading in the final game of the season.
The centre-back has previously been called up to represent Wales U16s last season and was a regular in Wales U17s’ qualifiers for this tournament earlier this season.
His campaign started against Denmark, and the young Red Dragons fell to a 2-0 defeat. Goals either side of half-time were their undoing, though Walker-Smith featured for the full 90 minutes.
With an uphill battle on their hands, Walker-Smith's Wales fell to a 3-0 defeat to Austria in their second game of the group. He did not feature in their final game of the group against Croatia due to picking up two yellow cards in the first two fixtures.
