The Eagles overcame Southampton 4-0 in the previous round, in a game that was replayed after being abandoned during the second-half. Commenting on the performance, manager Dean Davenport said: &#34;The FA Cup means a lot to the team and is a competition we want to go far in. The performance in the previous round - 4-0 win over Southampton - was exceptional. And the squad showed great maturity in having to replay the game, despite the original tie being called off at 3-0 on 79 minutes.&#34;

He said: &#34;Palace fans know what the game against Brighton means, whether it&#39;s first-team, women&#39;s or Academy. The girls are focussed and ready for next Sunday.
&#34;It&#39;s another chance to test ourselves against a Women&#39;s Super League team. And we know we have more than enough to cope with their threats and also do some damage of our own - Amber Stobbs has been in superb form since joining, with four goals in her first five games and the further recent additions in the January transfer window have settled in quickly.

Crystal Palace Women have drawn Brighton & Hove Albion in the Women's FA Cup, with the Seagulls making the trip to Hayes Lane on Sunday 16th February.

All paths led back 'home' for Palace Women's Amber Stobbs

<html><head></head><body>We spoke to Stobbs for the Derby County programme, at a time when Stobbs had capped off her first start for the club with, unsurprisingly, a goal. Below you can read, in Stobbs&#39; own words, how the move to Palace came about for the in-form striker.
I’d played against Palace for the last two seasons, both times with different clubs – West Ham and Charlton Athletic – and I always got a good feeling from the squad. I am delighted to have now re-signed for my local club after representing them as a youngster.
I suppose, when I think about it, all signs were always leading to me returning ‘home’. I’m a local girl from Croydon, and my friend, Andria Georgiou - who I used to play with at West Ham - plays for Palace. In fact, my last football game back in May was against Palace, at Selhurst Park, before I took a break from football and left Charlton.

After the game, Andria passed on my number to Dean Davenport and he text me basically saying: ‘I hear you’re taking a break from the game. If you ever want to just train or get back involved, let me know.’
That itch to start playing again returned. Therefore, when I moved back to Croydon I dropped Dean a message and came along for a couple of training sessions. After that first training session I knew this was just right; I came away extremely excited.
My mum used to work at Selhurst Park as she did finances for the club – her office used to be the new Palace for Life Foundation offices. We actually had a young Palace player, Stephen Evans - who played for Wales Under-21s - as a lodger. I have these memories of going to my mum’s work during the school summer holidays and hiding under the desk when Simon Jordan would come in - I was worried I wasn’t supposed to be there! The office knew I loved football and someone suggested joining in the Soccer School which were held in what’s now called the Fanzone.
I joined the Soccer School the next day and from there my passion for football was ignited. I was invited down to the Palace girls’ football session and ending up joining their team. The picture on the page opposite is actually one of me aged seven on a matchday! I have great memories of going to Selhurst park for games, being a mascot and playing on the pitch at half-time.
It’s great to be back here playing as a senior pro. I got some minutes under my belt in the recent Conti Cup clash against my former club, West Ham – it’s always a great feeling to play your old club.
And then I started against Durham in our final league game of 2019, which was really surprising as I’d just joined. I’d been feeling sharp in training but I was only anticipating getting just a few minutes in the second-half! When I heard my name in the starting lineup I must admit the nerves hit me. It was amazing to get my first start.

Despite the defeat, to score on my first start capped off what has been a great first few weeks at Palace. It’s clear that everyone is a team player, everyone is willing to do what is required to help the team and I’ve never felt so welcomed, so quickly, into a squad. I feel extremely lucky to be able to say that and I’m excited to see what we can achieve in the second-half of the season.

Crystal Palace Women striker Amber Stobbs has made an exceptional start to life with the Eagles, finding the back of the net four times in her first five games.

Ashlee Hincks provides update on her recovery

<html><head></head><body>Unfortunately, during the Eagles&#39; second game of the campaign, the striker suffered a season-ending injury. We caught up with No.10 to find out how her recovery is going - below is Hincks&#39; column from the Arsenal matchday programme.
Dean Davenport and the club have been fantastic during my injury lay-off. The situation is different in the women’s game but Palace and the manager have done everything within their capabilities to help me. 
I’ve been out since 8th September and I’ve now finally received my date for surgery which isn’t until 10thMarch. However, despite that being a couple of months away, it is nice to have it confirmed as it gives me a focus.
A long-term injury is frustrating enough but having to wait for the surgery adds to those frustrations because once I have the operation it will be between six to nine months before I’m back out there with the team. If I was at the rehabilitation stage already then I’d find it easier because you can set yourself goals in terms of walking, running, lifting weights but for now it is a waiting game.
Fortunately, at the age of 31, I am relieved to say this is my first long-term injury. And the biggest struggle for me has been having no one to blame. This was just a freak incident that occurred when I sent in a cross against Lewes. In a weird way, I’d have rather been clattered by an opponent.
Despite my injury, I’ve been keeping myself busy in regards to being around the team – Dean has been great in keeping me involved. I still attend games to support my teammates, and my role as vice-captain is one I take seriously and enjoy. Although I’m not out there on the pitch I still find I am able to take an active role.
It’s been quite an eye-opener for me watching from the sidelines for such a sustained period of time; you see the game completely differently. I would say it has given me a greater appreciation of all my teammates because I am able to get a view of the whole pitch – I’m a No.9 so naturally most of my time is spent in the final-third and therefore I usually have a limited view.
My injury has actually opened up a couple of other doors for me and I recently did co-commentary with Mark Bright for our Women’s Weekend game against London City Lionesses. What a great experience that was. Mark was lovely and passionate about the game and the squad.
Since Mark last covered a game we’ve had quite a large squad overhaul so I enjoyed discussing the exciting changes around the squad with him and bringing him up to speed with the new players that have joined.
In particular, new players Annabel Johnson, Amy Goddard and Ashleigh Goddard have been fantastic for us. But also important players for us from last season in the likes of Andria Georgiou have continued to impress. We are massively improved on last season and I am gutted to not be a part of it.
Last season we struggled to create opportunities and my role as the No.9 was to be the first line of defence. However, this campaign we are creating plenty of chances and I am itching to get back out there and get on the end of them.

Hannah Churchill signs for Crystal Palace Women

So proud of the team to get to where they’ve got to. It will be such a good test against a WSL team.&#34;
Churchill is a central midfielder, who enjoys &#34;working for the team, being vocal and dictating the midfield.&#34; But that won&#39;t be a surprise to her new Eagles teammates, with Churchill revealing: &#34;I’ve played with Annabel [Johnson] at Charlton previously. And I’ve also played against Palace for the last two or three years so I recognise plenty of faces.&#34;
